About

Billie-Lynn Hillis

Founder & Director of Gaia Wellness
Trauma Therapist | Shamanic Healer | Spiritual Teacher | Retreat Leader |
Meditation Teacher | Reiki & Sound Healer |
Medicine Woman

Billie Lynn Hillis is a guide, mentor, and space holder devoted to supporting people on the healing and remembering path whether they are just beginning to listen inward or are already walking as practitioners and facilitators in service to others.

As the founder of Gaia Wellness, Billie offers mentorship, immersive retreats, training programs, and ceremonial spaces that support healing, embodiment, and the return to an honest relationship with Self. Gaia is not about fixing what is broken or chasing transcendence. It is about learning how to live inside the human experience with presence, responsibility, and soul.

Billie’s work is shaped by her own lived journey through trauma, addiction, motherhood, grief, devotion, and awakening. What she offers comes from experience rather than ideology. It is grounded, relational, and continually refined through listening to the body, the Earth, Spirit, and the people she walks alongside.

Her approach weaves together shamanic and earth based wisdom with trauma informed and somatic practices, spiritual inquiry, meditation, and ceremonial work. She has trained in Compassionate Inquiry with Dr Gabor Maté, insight meditation and Buddhist psychology with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, trauma informed sacred medicine facilitation with Atira Tan, and kundalini and yogic traditions with Sat Dharam Kaur. These lineages inform a heart centered, nervous system aware, and deeply human way of holding space.

Billie works with seekers who are longing to heal, reconnect, and live with greater truth and wholeness, as well as with practitioners and facilitators who feel called to walk their path with integrity. Her mentorship emphasizes embodiment over performance, discernment over spiritual bypassing, and service over identity. She supports others in learning how to hold space safely, lead with humility, and stay rooted in their humanity while doing sacred work.

Gaia is a living field of remembrance, unraveling, and becoming. Billie is known for her grounded presence, intuitive clarity, and ability to create spaces that feel safe, real, and deeply transformative without needing to be dramatic or polished.

Her greatest teachers continue to be her children, the natural world, Spirit, and the unseen allies who walk beside her. Whether guiding a ceremony, mentoring a practitioner, or sitting quietly with someone in their healing process, Billie walks in devotion to truth, love, and the raw, sacred work of being human.

What to Expect in a Sacred Medicine Ceremony With Me
As more people begin seeking healing beyond traditional systems, many are feeling called toward ceremony, plant medicines, nervous system healing, spirituality, and deeper connection to themselves. And while sacred medicines can absolutely be profound teachers, one of the most important things I can say is this: A sacred medicine ceremony is not just about the medicine.

Spiritual Awakening or Nervous System Burnout? How to Tell the Difference
Lately, more and more people are asking the same question: “Am I going through a spiritual awakening… or am I just completely burnt out?” And honestly? Sometimes it can feel almost impossible to tell the difference. Because both can leave you questioning your life. Both can make you feel emotionally overwhelmed. Both can change your relationships, energy levels, priorities, and sense of identity. You may suddenly feel disconnected from the life you once worked so hard to build. You may feel...

Your Triggers Are Not the Problem… They’re the Portal
If you’re on any kind of healing or spiritual path, you’ve probably asked yourself this at some point: Why do I keep getting triggered… even after all the work I’ve done? You’ve journaled. You’ve meditated. You’ve read the books. Maybe you’ve even sat in ceremony, moved energy, processed memories. And still… something small happens, and your body reacts like it’s the end of the world. Tight chest. Heat in your body. Shutdown. Anger that feels way bigger than the moment. It can feel...
