What a Private Session With Me Actually Looks Like

Over the years, I have worked with thousands of people in retreats, trainings, ceremonies and healing spaces.

But there is something I really love about working with someone one on one.

There is nowhere we need to get to. Nothing you need to perform. No group to consider and no predetermined process we need to follow.

It is simply a space for you.

And often, the people who find their way into my private practice have already done a lot of work.

Maybe you have been to therapy. Maybe you have been on retreats, read the books, meditated, worked with different healers or spent years trying to understand yourself.

And still, there is something underneath it all that you know is asking for your attention.

Sometimes you know exactly what it is.

Sometimes you just know that something needs to change.

Both are welcome.

So What Actually Happens in a Session?

The simple answer is that every session is different.

I have spent close to two decades studying and working with different approaches to healing, including somatic therapy, Compassionate Inquiry, shamanic healing, Reiki, sound healing, meditation, trauma informed practices and energy work.

But when you come into a session with me, I am not choosing a modality and putting you through a process.

I am listening to you.

We might spend part of our time talking and exploring a pattern that keeps showing up in your life.

We might work with what is happening in your body or nervous system.

We may move into somatic work, Shamanic Reiki, sound healing, energy work or other practices.

Sometimes the work is emotional.

Sometimes it is spiritual.

Sometimes it is surprisingly practical.

And sometimes what someone thought they were coming in to work on isn't actually where we end up at all.

That is why I don't believe deeply personal healing work should follow a script.

We Start With Your Story

Your history.

What you are struggling with right now.

What you have already tried.

What you are hoping to change.

And anything else that might help me understand how to best support you.

I don't want you walking into the room feeling like you have to explain your entire life in the first twenty minutes.

I want us to have the space to actually work.

From there, we begin with what is present.

Not where I think you should be.

Not where you think you should be.

Where you actually are.

You Don't Need to Know What You Need

This is probably one of the biggest things I want people to understand.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect intention.

You don't need to know what modality you need.

You don't need to know whether your problem is emotional, energetic, spiritual or connected to your nervous system.

That is part of the work we do together.

You can simply come in and say:

"I know something isn't working anymore."

Or:

"I don't even know where to begin."

We can begin there.

Sometimes One Hour Isn't Enough

This is also why I offer both my Deep Healing Session and my Deep Healing Intensive.

There are times when an hour is exactly what is needed.

And there are other times when we need more space.

The two hour intensive gives us the opportunity to slow things down and go deeper without watching the clock just as something important begins to emerge.

For people who want to work together over a longer period of time, I also offer healing packages so that we can continue building on the work rather than trying to address everything in one session.

What About Medicine Work?

For those exploring expanded states of consciousness or plant medicine, I also offer preparation and integration support.

This work matters deeply to me because an experience itself is only one part of the journey.

What happens before it matters.

And what you do with what you have experienced afterward matters just as much.

Preparation can help you enter an experience with greater intention and awareness.

Integration is where we begin exploring how the insights from an experience actually become part of the way you live.

Coming Back to Private Practice

After several years of travelling, leading retreats and teaching, returning home to Canada and reopening my private practice has felt really good.

I love retreats. I love teaching groups. And those experiences will always be part of my work.

But I had forgotten how much I love sitting across from one person and having the time and space to really listen.

There is something incredibly powerful about healing that doesn't need an audience.

Just a quiet room.

A willingness to be honest.

And enough space to meet whatever is ready to be met.

If you have been feeling called toward deeper private work, you are welcome to reach out.

You don't have to know exactly what you need before you come.

We can figure that out together.
